Hi, I'm Duncan Walling, the founder of Improval.

I previously co-founded FourteenFish, a learning and appraisal platform used by thousands of healthcare professionals across the UK. After leaving FourteenFish in 2023, I wanted to build something new using my experience from years of working alongside doctors, educators, and healthcare organisation.

Today, Improval provides tools for appraisal, secure consultation recording, feedback and meaningful reflective practice. The goal is to provide easy to use tools so healthcare professionals can spend less time on administration whilst learning more and learning more effectively.

My vision for Improval is to bring those same benefits to healthcare professionals by creating tools that reduce administrative burden, support meaningful reflection and help people focus on what matters most: learning and improving.

Improval is still an independent founder led business. Every feature is built with real user feedback, and I remain closely involved with product development and support. This allows the platform to evolve quickly and stay focused on the needs of the people who use it every day.
